Road base is a rock material used in early stages of road construction. Road base materials are used to stabilise the foundations of everything from roads, tarmacs, and driveways to car parks, paths and bulk under fill.
This material helps to ensure safe and long-lasting surfaces.
Our road base materials are manufactured to Australian Standards and Main Roads specifications.
We offer five types of road base materials:
At Marmor Quarry, we can supply aggregate of any size, suitable for drainage applications, water filtering or smaller sizes for decorative purposes, landscaping and sealing roads.
Choose from the following sizes:
Our concrete aggregate is well suited for use in a variety of construction applications, including mixing into concrete products. Aggregates from Marmor Quarry comply with Australian Standards.
We offer aggregates in the following sizes: 7mm, 10mm, 14mm, 16mm, 20mm, or a mixture of sizes.
Our crushed fine aggregate, or crusher dust, is ideal for use in a variety of different construction and building projects, as well as decorative landscaping and outdoor fixtures. Crusher dust is smaller than 5mm in size, is easy to spread over a large area and compacts well.
Our large size quarry rocks comprises shot rock material, direct from the face of the blast, and range in size from 150mm to 500mm. These materials are suited for use in outdoor construction, particularly in specialised applications involving the diversion, containment or trapping of water.
Gabion rocks range in size from 75mm to 150mm. They’re often used to fill gabion baskets. Although gabion baskets are the most common use, gabion rocks are useful in many different outdoor applications as this type of rock is resistant to weathering. Because of their size and durability, they are effective for filling large spaces efficiently.
Ballast is an unusually coarse aggregate. Its unique texture makes it suitable for use in roadway projects and rail track construction.
We offer two different grades of ballast rock:
Drainage rocks are made of basalt and sedimentary rocks and is very hardwearing. They are made in all different sizes to meet your requirements. Contact us for a quote or advise.
We offer large blue rock in sizes ranging from 200mm to 1m. These attractive and sturdy rocks are a good fit for many outdoor projects. Larger rocks work well in erosion prevention builds, offering better protection against heavy water flow or land movement.
Decomposed granite is a sourced local material that is screened to remove all large rocks. It is used as a substitute for crusher dust and is suitable for bedding (pipes, water tanks, drainage and more)
A general purpose roadbase, suitable for rural roads and driveways. As with all our gravel this is a high quality product, but at a low cost price point. It is blended with just the right amount of clay to ensure a solid road, once compacted.
